Sound Meets Structure: Venueworx Delivers High-Quality Audio While Preserving the Iconic Look of Eldora Ballroom

Rossburg, OH - 11/1/2024 – Venueworx is proud to announce the completion of an advanced audio system installation at the historic Eldora Ballroom, located at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Originally built in 1948 by bandleader Earl Baltes, the Eldora Ballroom has been a cherished venue for gatherings and celebrations for decades. Following a $2 million renovation, the ballroom now boasts major enhancements, including a commercial kitchen, HD video displays, a VIP room, and an upgraded audio system crafted by Venueworx.

A central goal throughout this project was to honor the ballroom’s unique architectural aesthetic, especially the exposed beams that give it such character. To achieve this, we custom-designed mounting solutions for the JBL Control 67 P/T speakers, which allowed us to minimize the speakers’ visual impact while preserving the room's ambiance. This design provided the coverage needed without disrupting the historic charm of the space.

Starting in November 2023, we worked in close alignment with Eldora Speedway’s team to coordinate our installation with the construction timeline, ensuring pre-wiring and speaker placement were integrated before drywall and ceiling finishes. Adjustments to speaker layout ensured optimal coverage, even in areas with unexpected ceiling height variations.

Key features of the new system include:

Tascam MX-8A Matrix Mixer and RC-W100-R120 Wall Controllers: These allow flexible audio control across multiple zones, so sound levels can be adjusted independently in areas like the main ballroom and outdoor patio.
JBL Control Speakers: Our custom-mounted JBL Control 67 P/T and 24CT Micro ceiling speakers provide clear, consistent audio coverage while preserving the ballroom’s aesthetic.
Crown DCi Power Amplification: Harman’s DriveCore technology ensures high-quality, reliable sound for all areas of the venue.
